Dongfang Electric Group Dongfang Motor Co., Ltd. was formerly Dongfang Motor Factory (founded in 1958). In 1993, Dongfang Motor Co., Ltd. was established through stock system reform. It was one of the earliest enterprises in China to realize simultaneous listing both at home and abroad. After the main assets of China Eastern Electric group were listed in 2007, they were re registered by the main operating assets of the former Oriental Electric Co., Ltd. in january2008, and renamed Dongfang Electric Group Dongfang Motor Co., Ltd. and now it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Co., Ltd. In July, 2009, the company completed the transfer of some assets of Dongfang motor plant and its holding subsidiary, and integrated relevant business.

The company covers an area of 740000 square meters, with a registered capital of 2 billion yuan. By the end of 2008, the total assets and assets reached 10 billion yuan and net assets of 2.9 billion yuan. At present, 7410 employees are on duty and 1947 are professional and technical personnel. Among them, there are 2 academicians of the Academy of engineering, 5 national experts, 27 experts enjoying special government subsidies, 511 with senior technical titles.
