On August 11, 2016, Foxconn said that China's anti-monopoly department had approved the company's acquisition of sharp. This progress paved the way for Foxconn to complete a total $3.8 billion acquisition of sharp. On May 20, 2017, Foxconn was preparing to build Wuhan R & D center with a total investment of 10 billion yuan.

On May 11, 2018, the CSRC approved Foxconn's first application. On June 17, the North American company headquarters was established in Milwaukee, port city, southeast Wisconsin. In July, a new industrial AI system was established in Silicon Valley.
